USA moves new suit against Sadia

SÃO PAULO (SP), 19 de novembro de 2008 - Sadia S.A. informed the Market Regulatory Agency (CVM) yesterday that a new suit was filed against the company on Monday in the South District Court of New York. The suit is brought by stockholder Jason Radzik against Sadia executives Gilberto Tomazoni, Adriano Lima Ferreira, Welson Teixeira Júnior, Walter Fontana Filho and Eduardo Fontana d' Avila.

This is the third suit brought in the United States against the Brazilian food processor because of losses that the company suffered in leveraged operations with exchange derivatives. Sadia said that it will not comment on processes underway and that it had not received notification of this one, only that it had partial access of the contents. The company added that it already has contracted attorneys abroad to represent it.
